About Us

Why OUR ROOT ?

There shouldn’t be colors in human race and a lot of our fundamental problems today in our beautiful planet is because we see ourselves as different colors. When I came to the U.S working in the warehouse with different people of different races. I tried getting close to the African Americans, I didn’t feel an easy way to connect and I never gave up in the pursuit of building relationships with my brothers. I noticed grudges and discriminations were bound with the African Immigrants and the African Americans. I was curious to realize what the grudges were and why they were being discriminated upon and they came with a lot of questions;

  1.  Do Africans still live in the jungle?
  2. Are African covered with leaves as clothes?
  3. Why would we sell our brothers into slavery?

With these questions I felt the need to create this non-profit organization to provide awareness of our culture, what Africa is truly about. How we live in the most beautiful trees, the untold stories of the slave trade. How the jungles are classical…through the scientists the human race started their first journey in Africa.

According to Bob Marley, he said we should tell our children the truth.

This is the time for us to change our minds not to LIVE AS COLOR BUT TO LIVE AS HUMAN BEINGS.

My greatest motivation is to promote African culture, tradition and spirituality. I believe a nation without trees that nation has no history. Black people reach deep into your minds and embrace your origin. Keep love in you, let love grow into your future, so we can leave this heritage and legacy for our future generations.

Dr. Manuela Atchikpa

Vice President

The journey of the tree in the water does not transform into crocodile. No matter where I am or where I go, Africa will always be my home and my comfort place. I invite my brothers and sisters to follow me in this adventure that will allow us to value and decorate our motherland.

Loveth Jenfa

General Coordinator

We are on a mission to show Africa to the world and I believe the story of Africa should be told by Africans. Come see, learn and Enjoy Africa with us.

Sayad ALABI

Secretary General

When you're a human being, either you were born and raised in natural favorite conditions..., or not, in order to achieve your life goal/mission, you definitely must have to secure your culture, to be connected to your ancestors, thru your roots. Therefore, your Roots are like a lifetime GPS, without which/whom, reaching your life mission or goal on earth, is IMPOSSIBLE. Therefore, Your ROOTS are definitely your real IDENTITY. Hotep 30:11

I choose to be part of the “ROOT”, because as an African child, my dream is to bring all African-Americans to get reconnected to their mother land, source of inspiration and freedom. Back to where you belong to, enlighten and reveal your destiny in order to boost you to conquer the world, and together we are strong and yes we can.
Our Roots is the way to discover WHERE we are from and definitely WHO WE ARE!!!!
